What to expect when we reopen
We've made a few changes to ensure you can safely enjoy your visit:
- Face coverings are required for the protection of yourself and others, unless you're exempt.
- We ask that you keep a safe distance apart during your visit. Staff are on-hand to advise and there are markers throughout the Visitor Centre to guide you. Please be considerate of other visitors and staff.
- Hand sanitiser stations can be found throughout the Visitor Centre. Please wash or sanitise your hands regularly.
- We've introduced extra cleaning measures for your protection.
- Our café and gift shop will be open – contactless payment is preferred.
- Please do not visit if you feel unwell or have Covid-19 symptoms.
- Please follow government guidelines during your visit and avoid mixing with people outside of your household or support bubble while inside the Visitor Centre or on a guided tour.

The Victorian gardens and grounds are open to the public, in strict accordance with Covid-19 policy and latest government guidelines. Explore epic monuments and reflect on the stories of Irish life, carved in stone by generations of craftsmen.
Relax & Recharge
Enjoy Grand Café Triple certified coffee (Rainforest Alliance, organic and fairtrade), made by trained and passionate barista staff. Currently open for takeaway only.
Botanic Gardens
Find the secret gate and explore the beauty of the National Botanic Gardens. The gate goes through the wall on the Prospect Square side of the cemetery - discover more about our partnership with the Gardens.
City Walking Tour
Make the most of the 2.5km walk from Dublin city centre with our suggested walking trail, and discover the influence and impact of some of the people buried here along the way.

The booking facility is currently not available, while we await guidance on Government restrictions relating to Covid-19.
Opening Hours
Visitors are welcome to enjoy the gardens and wander the cemetery, in line with Covid-19 regulations and essential travel restrictions.
Those wishing to visit a grave are exempt from travel restrictions as this is deemed an essential service. Please refer to our Covid-19 policy and the Visiting page of Glasnevin Cemetery, and current Government guidelines.

The Tower Café is located next to the Visitor Centre. It is operated by The Caterers, who evolve their menus to adjust to new food trends, and pride themselves in using fresh wholesome ingredients. All freshly made cakes, scones, salads and artisan sandwiches are prepared on a daily basis.

Location & Access
Experience Glasnevin is located on the Finglas Road, Dublin 11, approximately 3km from the City Centre, and near to the M50 and M1.
Free onsite coach parking is available for group bookings. Prior to arrival, we ask that you inform us if you require coach parking. Please ensure that groups disembark the coach only when it is safely parked within the designated coach/bus area.
There is also a car park for up to 30 cars. A fee applies to this
general car park.

The standard opening time of the Visitor Centre and adjoining facilities is 10am. Earlier opening may be arranged on request and is subject to availability.
The Visitor Centre is fully wheelchair accessible and so are all elements of the guided tour, apart from Daniel O’Connell’s crypt which is accessed via steps.
